Wedding Photographer Kidderminster. Rock Village Hall & Church.

Brrrr... it was cold! A proper winter wedding. Crisp fresh air, clear skies and bright sparkling sunshine.

Jack frost had been busy during the night and left his calling card. Perfect winter weather!

Sandwiched between Christmas Day and New Year, a 150 guests descended onto the small village of Rock in Kidderminster to celebrate Hannah & Chris doing their wedding thing!

They booked me for the whole day so I started off with Hannah and the gang at her parents home with the accustomed bridal preps before heading over to the Church of St Peter & St Paul for the ceremony.

Choosing Rock Village Hall & Church as the venues for their wedding day was very important to them. Hannah's family farm is in Rock and she has many happy childhood memories there.

The village hall is a beautiful venue and her late Grandfather spent a lot of time on the village hall committee, developing the vision for the building.

In addition, generations of her family have got married at Rock Church, so they wanted to continue the tradition.

This was my first time at both venues. Rock Village Hall is not your typical village hall though.

It's very unique and looks like a trendy barn conversion. It's built using as many environmental friendly and recycled materials as possible. It uses rain water from the roof for the toilets and solar panels for its energy.

It sits on the Millennium Green with gorgeous views towards Abberly Hill. It's also a few minutes walk from the village church.

Hannah secretly organised some singers posing as waitresses to burst into song halfway through the wedding breakfast. Only Hannah (and I) knew. The look on Chris's face was priceless!

Hannah & Chris were guests at Suzy and Jon's wedding (here) so they already knew my style and how I worked. They're such a fun loving fantastic couple.

I was truly honoured to have been able to shoot and share their amazing day with them!

Tell me how you first met? Who what when where why?

We worked together at The Chase School. Chris is a PE teacher and needed rugby players to play when they should have been in Hannah's A Level English Literature lessons so he bribed her with smooth words and chocolate and the rest is history!

Where was your first date? What did you think of each other?

Costa in Tewksbury - not very flash! I think we knew after that though.

Tell me about the proposal, (did you see it coming, how long was it in the planning, how did you feel, nervous, excited, freaking out?).

Again, not very flash - there's a clear theme here! Hannah was the National Chair of the Young Farmers at the time and so was away nearly every weekend - Chris had to make the most of a rare weekend night at home.

He booked a table at Ask in Malvern, and hadn't really thought about how he'd actually propose despite having the ring for over a month. He eventually asked as Hannah was paying the bill!

Tell me one thing that you love most about each other.

Hannah loves the fact that Chris is laid back and Chris loves the fact that Hannah is feisty!

Besides getting married, what is the one thing that you are looking forward to the most on your wedding day?

Spending time with our wonderful friends and family.

How have you find the wedding planning? Do you have any tips for other brides?

The planning has been enjoyable. I'd advise other brides to be organised and not to worry about things that no one will actually notice on the day!
