Olly & Lorna travelled up from London to get married in Herefordshire, where Lorna is originally from. They chose to have their wedding ceremony at the Priory Church in Leominster. A magnificent historic building. It's home to the last ever ducking stool used in England. A form of punishment usually saved for wives whose husband's thought they were too opinionated!
They chose me for their wedding day partly because I made the effort to go all the way down to London to show them my portfolio but mostly because they loved my fun style! Olly decided to have two best men, one of which was the Hollywood actor Luke Evans (Fast & Furious 6, Dracula Untold, The Hobbit). Lorna chose a vintage 1940’s wedding outfit for her day complete with a birdcage veil, ostrich feather bolero and Candy Apple Lipstick!I was with them the whole day from their bridal and groom preparations, through their speeches and right up to their first dance together. All the expected formals were taken during the day but were kept to a minimum as they wanted to have fun and party with their guests as much as possible!
The reception was held at the privately owned Whitney Court in Herefordshire. A beautiful English Country Manor House overlooking Whitney-on-Wye where I have photographed weddings a few times before. It provided the perfect backdrop to a beautiful warm spring day and everyone was definitely in the party mood!
"Just wanted to say a huge 'Thank You' for your time and patience with us all on our wedding day. I sensed that we were a pretty awkward group to keep in one place to photograph, but I guess you're used to that!
I found you to be a real pleasure to have around on the day and far from intrusive. Thank you for making things so easy and free flowing for us.
We are both very, very , very happy with our photos. You've captured our day to perfection and the quality of the photos are just amazing."
