Gorcott Hall Wedding Photographer - Redditch

Wedding Locations: Gorcott Hall, Redditch, Worcestershire.
Just on the outskirts of Redditch lies an exclusive majestic understated wedding venue hidden behind ancient woodland. This was my first time at Gorcott Hall for Liz and Gareth's big day.

Gorcott Hall is a gorgeous Grade II-listed 16th Century Tudor Hall & 19th Century Barn wedding venue in Redditch, Worcestershire surrounded by acres of stunning gardens.

A muggy late summer’s day lay ahead as Liz and her bridesmaids enjoyed the morning preps in one of Gorcott Hall’s rooms in a converted barn next to the main building.

The early-afternoon ceremony took place inside the in the main room. Able to accommodate up to 65 guests, this is a perfect space for intimate weddings.

Following refreshments in the gardens and photos around Gorcott Hall’s grounds, guests made their way into The Barn for the reception and evening shenanigans!

It was a real pleasure to be part of Liz & Gareth’s amazing day! Below are the messages I received from them.

"I just wanted to thank you for photographing our wedding day, we had such a fantastic day and can't wait to see the photos !

You were brilliant:)"

"Well that was beautiful and I cried throughout the whole thing!!!! Thank you so much. I can't wait to share them with everybody. :)

Thanks again. Liz & Gareth x"

Hope you're well. Sorry for the late reply, Gareth has been out of the country for the last few days.

Thanks for sending the photos across, they are all so beautiful and you really captured the day perfectly.

Everybody we've shown has loved them!

We've finally answered the questions below for you:

Tell me how you first met? Who what when where why?

We met whilst at a college party that Liz's friend held. Gareth invited himself along and thank god he did!

Where was your first date? What did you think of each other?

Gareth asked Liz to go to the museum for their first date... Gareth knows how to treat a lady.

Tell me about the proposal, (did you see it coming, how long was it in the planning, how did you feel, nervous, excited, freaking out?)

We decided to do a mini tour of Europe for a week, going to Munich, Zurich, Salzburg, and ending up in Paris. We went to have a closer look at the Eiffel Tower one evening towards the end of the holiday.

Gareth proposed and Liz didn’t see it coming at all – we’d been together for over 10 years at this point. The only red flag Liz had was that he couldn’t finish his dinner earlier in the evening due to nerves, which is probably the first time he’s ever left food on his plate!

Tell me one thing that you love most about each other.

Gareth has the best sense of humour and he makes me laugh every day. Liz is so kind, loving, and caring - she makes me want to challenge myself to be a better person.

Why did you choose Gorcott Hall as the venue for your wedding?

We wanted to have the ceremony and the reception at the same venue. We’ve always liked Tudor style buildings, they have so much character, so when we first saw the hall we knew it would be perfect.

Besides getting married, what is the one thing that you are looking forward to the most on your wedding day?

Having all of our family and friends in the same room together. And, of course, the food!

How have you find the wedding planning? Do you have any tips for other brides?

The wedding planning was actually a lot less stressful than we thought it would be. We had a lot of help from family which was so appreciated. Our words of advice would be - don't sweat the small stuff!

Bonus question – As I’m a photographer, what advice can you give about choosing your wedding photographer?

Pick somebody who you think will reflect your personality. We like to enjoy ourselves in everything we do and Teme Valley Photography came across in a relaxed and fun way, which suited us perfectly.
