One of the best things about a wedding in June (apart from being summertime) is the amount of natural light you get. The longer days often allow far more photo opportunities.
The light stays around well into the evening giving you the chance get some extra photographs outside after the wedding breakfast. It's also why many couples choose this time of the year, June dates are always booked up before any other month.
So, in early June, it was a short trip over to St Andrews Town Hotel in Droitwich for Meghan & Ben's wedding. A sophisticated Georgian manor house built in the 19th centaury.
A venue I hadn't been back to for a very long time. I was pleased to find it was still a great place.
I bagged a quick 10 minute bridal prep session on the way to St. Andrews as Megan wasn't really fussed about having it captured. I then quickly headed over to Droitwich to catch a few arrivals before the day kicked off proper.
As all of my weddings are non-traditional, more and more couples nowadays are not bothering to have a first dance. Many newlyweds don't really look forward to it, especially Grooms.
Megan & Ben decided to not bother having a first dance during their wedding day. Most of the time (unless you've had some lessons) you don't really dance, you just stand there and shuffle around for 3 mins, whilst all your guests watch.
There are no rules that say you've got to have one. It's your wedding, do what you want, not what social convention expects.
Megan & Ben did exactly what they wanted on their big day. It was a real pleasure to be a part of their wedding and capture it all for them!
