Set in the quaint little village of Shrawley in Worcestershire is a wedding venue called The Curradine Barns.

The Barns are a collection of re-established 19th Century classic style livestock buildings and plush modernized farm cottage accommodation.

The venue is very popular all year round. I've lost count the amount of weddings I've shot there!

It was great to be back there once again for Rose & Ben's Winter wedding.

Winter weddings are always a challenge. Especially on the shortest day off the year. The light is non-existent by 3pm and the weather is usually cold and miserable. Rose & Ben were lucky though, it felt more like early spring than winter!

Their ceremony was originally scheduled for late afternoon which would have meant that most of their photography would have to be done inside due to the lack of daylight.

It was something that never occurred to them when planning their day. They took my advice though and moved their ceremony to 11.30am.

Many couples don't realise that a late winter wedding ceremony will restrict your photographic options. It's not something you think about when planning a wedding, especially during the summer. The sun sets fast and the quality of light fades quickly.

I always advise couples to have the ceremony as early as possible. You spend most of your budget on the venue, make the most of it!

Rose & Ben were a dream couple to work with. Their day was bloody amazing! Everything was perfect.
