LINSEY & TOM
Tell me how you first met? Who what when where why?
Linsey and I first met on December 28th 2017. We had both recently come out of dating other people and happened to find ourselves in the right place at the right time. I was out with my friend and she was out with her friends on a works Christmas get together.
I can still recall her walking into the Cellar bar and looking at her whilst playing pool and thinking that she was the girl I wanted to speak to and get to know better.
I asked her out on a date shortly after meeting her while sat at the corner of the bar - she agreed.
Where was your first date? What did you think of each other?
Our first official date was something very causal, we went for a drink at the pub and then went to see Jumanji at the cinema – I’m a big fan of The Rock so she didn’t really have much say in the film choice.
It took me a long time of pursing her to get her to agree to go on a date, I don’t think she thought I was very serious.
Linsey was quite shy on the first date, but she had something about her that really intrigued me plus she is gorgeous, so I had to find out more about her.
Tell me one thing that you love most about each other.
I love the fact she loves me for being me and has never once tried to change me. She makes me laugh and we bring out the best in each other.
Why did you choose The Bank House as the venue for your wedding?
We chose the Bank House after Linsey and her mom went for a viewing and loved the place and the chilled out atmosphere.
I was at work when she first went but I always trust her judgement and opinion, so we agreed to book the venue without me actually visiting until later!
Besides getting married, what is the one thing that you are looking forward to the most on your wedding day?
I am looking forward to celebrating our special day with our friends and family.
How have you find the wedding planning? Do you have any tips for other brides?
The wedding planning has not been too stressful.
Linsey has been all over it. There have been times when it has been a bit over whelming, because she is a planner and likes to be very organized, the whole process has been quite smooth.
Were there any hidden things or expenses you just didn’t consider before planning your day?
I wouldn't say there were any hidden expenses but there were a few of things we didn’t originally consider such as flowers, guest books, favours, decorations etc.
Because we are quite forward thinkers, we always budgeted enough to cost the wedding accordingly and spoke to different people who had been to many weddings who gave us advice and helped us understand what we need.
One bit of advice I would give any other couples is to start saving early because the last year we have had not really had much of a social life.
Bonus question – As I’m a photographer, what advice can you give about choosing your wedding photographer?
Leon, you were very approachable through emails and always responded to me quickly. We checked out your social media which helped us in seeing the types of photographs you produce.
More importantly, however, you put us both at ease and answered all the questions we didn’t even know needed answering when we met you.
This instantly relaxed us and made us feel comfortable that we had chosen you as the person to photograph our wedding.
